About the Author, Celi Trépanier
Celi Trépanier is the author of “Educating Your Gifted Child: How One Public School Teacher Embraced Homeschooling.” It was released in March 2015 to excellent reviews. She writes for Noodle Education and Fractus Learning, and has also published with Education Week and various other educational publications.
She became a passionate advocate for gifted children after tiring of her battles with schools and their misunderstanding and neglect of gifted students. She blogs about her journey with her gifted children here on Crushing Tall Poppies.
Celi has a vast and varied background in education. She received her B.S. from Loyola University in New Orleans and her M.Ed. from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She has taught in Louisiana, Ontario and Alabama, in public schools, private schools and in homeschool co-ops. She is also a certified SENG–Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted Model Parent Group facilitator.
Being born and raised in south Louisiana, Celi grew up with a strong Cajun French heritage and eventually married a French-Canadian, and they have three unbelievably wonderful sons—yes, she is biased. She now resides in central Texas with her husband and youngest son.
