About the Author, Celi Trépanier

Celi Trépanier is the author of Educating Your Gifted Child: How One Public School Teacher Embraced Homeschooling by GHF Press.  It was released in March of 2015 to excellent reviews. She is a contributing writer for Noodle Education and Fractus Learning, and has also published with Education Week and various other local, state, and international educational publications.

Celi has a vast and varied background in education. She received her B.S. from Loyola University in New Orleans and her M.Ed. from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. She has taught in Louisiana, Ontario, Iowa, and Alabama, in public schools, private schools and in homeschool co-ops. Celi is on the Advisory Board for The G Word film and documentary, and she is a SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted) Certified Model Parent Group Facilitator.

She became a passionate advocate for gifted children after tiring of her battles with schools and their misunderstanding and neglect of gifted students. She writes about her journey with her gifted children,  about giftedness, advocacy, and education right here on Crushing Tall Poppies.

Being born and raised in south Louisiana, Celi grew up with a strong Cajun French heritage and eventually married a French-Canadian, and they have three unbelievably wonderful sons—yes, she is biased. She now resides on a lake in north Alabama.
