The many adjectives we use to describe our daily lives as the parents of gifted children are often polar opposites, at either end of the spectrum. Exhilarating and exhausting. Jubilant and melancholy. Optimistic and discouraged. Triumphant and floundering. And these opposing adjectives often happen the same day, at the very same moment.
